Numeracy and literacy programme for seasonal workers

Country Life reports a programme being run in the Bay of Plenty to improve the numeracy and literacy of workers who have come to New Zealand on the recognised seasonal employment scheme has been most successful.

Co-ordinator Sandy Scarrow says it's been great to see workers gain confidence so they can ask their employers questions, and their conversational English has improved.

The workers also learned about internet banking, saving them time and money.
