The federal opposition in Australia is demanding that Prime Minister Julia Gillard detail her attendance record at national security committee meetings.
The Australian newspaper has reported allegations that, when Ms Gillard was deputy prime minister, she sometimes sent a staff member to Cabinet's national security committee meetings.
The claim follows an earlier ABC report that former prime minister Kevin Rudd sometimes sent his chief of staff to the meetings.
Deputy Opposition leader Julie Bishop says Ms Gillard must confirm how many national security meetings she attended, or who attended in her place, and whether there were occasions when neither she nor Mr Rudd were present.
Small Business Minister Craig Emerson told the ABC the Government will not reveal details of national security meetings nor who attended.
