The latest opinion poll in Australia shows the Labor Party has regained its lead over the coalition, a week from polling day on 21 August.
The Nielsen poll published in Fairfax newspapers shows support for Labor has risen to 53%, while the Coalition has slipped to 47% after preferences.
The ABC reports the poll also shows Julia Gillard has a 14 point lead over Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, as preferred prime minister.
However, the figures suggest Labor could lose up to 12 marginal seats in New South Wales and Queensland.
They show swings of 3.4% to the Coalition in Queensland and 1.3% in New South Wales. But there is a 6.2% swing to Labor in Victoria.
The poll also shows the Greens preferences at a record high of 86% in favour of Labor.
On Thursday, a Roy Morgan poll also had Labor on a lead of 57.5% compared to 42.5% for the Coalition on a two-party basis.
Labor's primary vote was up five points to 43% ahead of the Liberals on 37%.
