Helicopter search fails to locate missing Dunedin man

4:04 pm on 22 August 2010

A helicopter search for a missing Dunedin man is yet to find any trace of him.

Brad Anderson, 25, was last seen on Thursday morning at a petrol station on George Street.

His family have hired the helicopter in an effort to find him or his station wagon.

Police are asking for any sightings of the silver station wagon, which has the words "Otago I.T." written in blue and yellow on the sides.

A family spokesperson Paul O'Sullivan says Mr Anderson's disappearance is completely out of character and he likes to keep in contact with friends and family.

Mr O'Sullivan says he believes Mr Anderson would respond immediately to any text or call from family or friends worried about his safety.

He says Mr Anderson's cell phone is still giving a signal, but it could be anywhere within a 30km radius.

A search of the city centre is being held on Sunday.
