Listed drink manufacturer Charlie's has made a record full-year profit of $2.5 million, a turnaround from last year's loss of $1.8 million.

Sales grew 1.7% and underlying earnings reached $3.4 million, of which half came from Australia.

Charlie's chief executive Stefan Lepionka says the company's investment across the Tasman is starting to pay off.

To boost flagging sales in New Zealand, Charlie's launched a new brand Juicy Lucy 13 weeks ago, which is the only Charlie's product to be made from concentrate.
