Secondary school teachers are deciding whether to take industrial action over their stalled pay talks.
The Post Primary Teachers Association (PPTA) is holding paid union meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday, after rejecting the Ministry of Education's offer.
The offer included a 1.5% pay increase this year and a further 1% next year, while the PPTA wants a 4% pay rise for members.
The ministry's education workforce group manager, Fiona McTavish, says it has revised its offer, which she describes as fair in the current economic situation.
But PPTA president Kate Gainsford says the most recent offer is largely the same as the original one, and members want changes to work conditions dropped.
Education Minister Anne Tolley on Tuesday urged the PPTA to resume negotiations with the ministry.
Mrs Tolley says she would be disappointed if there was industrial action that meant students had to stay home.
