The general manager of a Moriori trust who was reinstated to his position following an Employment Relations Authority hearing, says there are still substantive issues to resolve.
Maui Solomon was suspended from his position at the Hokotehi Trust on the Chatham Islands on 31 August following board elections by the executive chair of the trust.
The Employment Relations Authority has ordered Mr Solomon's full reinstatement after finding his suspension unlawful.
Mr Solomon was seeking $50,000 in compensation for hurt and humiliation but has been awarded $8000.
Maui Solomon was suspended from his position by the executive chair of the trust, Shirley King, who accused him of lobbying for his preferred candidates during board elections - which did not include her.
He refused to acknowledge the suspension.
Mr Solomon says it's business as usual for the trust again, accounts have been unfrozen, and he expects the special general meeting of the trust on 24 and 25 November to address many other outstanding issues.
