Submissions have opened for the Parliamentary inquiry into the status and wellbeing of Maori children.

It's being carried out by the Maori Affairs Select Committee.

A member of the inquiry team, the Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei, is urging whanau, marae, teachers, academics, health workers - and anyone else - to make a submission.

The inquiry will look at six different areas, including public investment in Maori children across the health, education, social services, and justice sectors.
