Government officials are holding back on releasing public views on the Early Childhood Education Taskforce's recommendations on Te Kohanga Reo National Trust Board.
The Ministry of Education sought responses to a wide range of ideas about the entire early childhood sector, including funding and accountability.
But it's left out submissions on Te Kohanga Reo at the movement's request.
The ministry says that because the organisation has filed a Waitangi Tribunal claim, it considers it inappropriate to release the consultation results with Te Kohanga Reo.
Te Kohanga Reo National Trust Board co-chair Tina Olsen-Ratana confirms it did ask the ministry to withhold publication of any further comments regarding the taskforce report, until the board's views have been heard.
The trust board has said the report could lead to mainstream pre-school centre rules being forced on its Maori language nests.
