More than two dozen people from the United States and China were charged on Friday with running a $US325 million counterfeit goods ring.

Arrests were made in New Jersey, Texas and New York by the FBI and Immigration Customs Enforcement.

Twenty nine people have been indicted, including 22 arrested in the United States and one in the Philippines. Another six still at large.

The knock-off items included Nike sneakers, Lacoste shirts and Louis Vuitton handbags. They were imported from China through Elizabeth, New Jersey, the busiest port on the East Coast.

Brand-name insignias were concealed during shipment and revealed after the goods arrived in the United States.
