A bomb has been made safe by Army bomb experts in north Belfast.
More than 30 houses were evacuated on Thursday afternoon after police discovered a suspicious object during a search in Jamaica Street in Ardoyne.
The BBC reports the alert is now over and people have been allowed to return to their homes.
Chief Inspector Andrew Freeburn said the bomb was "substantial and viable". He said it was "intended to murder".
