Typhoon Trami has struck Taiwan with torrential rain, causing severe flooding and landslides. Wind speeds have reached 120km per hour.
Land and sea warnings were issued. Businesses and schools are closed in the capital Taipei and in northern and eastern areas.
Deutsche Welle reports Trami flooded half of Manila on Monday, displacing an estimated 300,000 people.
