The dean of fashion - Richard Blackwell - has died in Los Angeles. He was 86.
For 48 years he issued an annual "worst-dressed" list, noted for caustic quips about fashions as well as who made the list.
The Los Angeles Times reported he died on Sunday afternoon in hospital of complications from an intestinal infection.
He had been in failing health for some time and in August was reported to be in a coma after a fall at his Los Angeles home.
Blackwell had his own clothing line for 35 years. He was also a costume designer.
