Beau Lamarre-Condon, the police officer charged with the double murder of Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, has been removed from the New South Wales Police Force.
In a statement, NSW Police said Commissioner Karen Webb had used her powers under section 181D of the Police Act 1990 to end his employment.
"The commissioner has the ability to remove officers if she has lost confidence in their suitability to continue as a police officer," it said.
Lamarre-Condon stands accused of murdering Davies and Baird last month at Baird's home in Paddington with a police-issued hand gun.
The bodies of the two men were found more than a week later on a rural property in Bungonia, south-west of Sydney, wrapped in surf bags.
The alarm was first raised on Wednesday, 21 February after a worker discovered unusual items including bloodied clothing in a skip bin near a club in Sydney's south.
Police said a "significant" amount of blood was found at Baird's Brown Street home in Paddington later that day.
Lamarre-Condon presented himself to a Bondi police station two days later.
Previously, Webb served Lamarre-Condon with a show cause notice in prison, the first step in removing him from the police force.
Before becoming a police officer in 2019, Lamarre-Condon was a celebrity blogger who often boasted on social media about his close encounters with Hollywood A-listers.
Police will review his recruitment file and history in the police force as part of their investigation.
