13 arrested after confrontation in Bradford

Thirteen men have been arrested in Britain after an anti-Islamist group clashed with anti-fascist demonstrators in the streets of the city of Bradford.

Members of the English Defence League threw bottles, stones and smoke bombs as police struggled to keep them apart from the other group, Unite Against Fascism.

A heavy police presence largely contained the confrontation, but the incident raised fears of a repeat of race riots that rocked Bradford in 2001.
