The Australian Government has approved new powers to allow for mandatory detention of people suspected of having swine flu, if the situation gets worse.

The number of Australians being tested for swine flu was revised down to 91 on Wednesday morning.

The ABC reports the federal government is looking for 22 Australians who travelled with a group of New Zealanders who have been confirmed to have swine flu.

Health minister Nicola Roxon says swine flu has been added to a list of quarantineable diseases.
