A gunman remains under police guard in a Sydney hospital, after taking at least four people hostage during a siege on Sunday.
The incident began at 5.30am local time when the police were called to the Lakes Hotel at Rosebery and an officer was shot in the arm.
The officer has been discharged from hospital and none of those who were taken hostage were harmed.
The ABC reports police are still investigating the gunman's motives.
