Prince Charles has revealed he will borrow a friend's private jet for an official visit to the United States in order to save money.
Texas financier Joe Allbritton has offered the aircraft for the Prince of Wales' visit on 3-4 May.
The ABC reports that this is the first time a member of the British royal family has not charged the taxpayer for the use of a private aircraft for a state visit.
While he is in the US, Prince Charles will meet President Barack Obama and address an agricultural conference at Georgetown University.
