Senior al Qaeda figure killed in Afghanistan

The international forces fighting in Afghanistan say they have killed a senior al Qaeda figure, Abdul Ghani.

A Saudi citizen, he was considered the second most important insurgent in the country, responsible for establishing training camps and organising attacks on tribal leaders and foreigners.

The NATO-led forces say he died in an air strike two weeks ago in Kunar province, near Pakistan.
