Charges have now been dropped against all three Australian military officers involved in the accidental deaths of five children in Afghanistan.

The children and an adult died when members of the Special Operations Task Group were clearing a compound in Uruzgan province in February 2009, the ABC reports.

The Defence Force on Tuesday dropped charges against the third officer.

Charges against the other two were dropped in May this year.
