Rescuers in the Philippines are struggling to reach communities in the northern provinces of Luzon island, which has been hit by two typhoons in five days.

The national disaster agency said one person was killed when Typhoon Nalgae struck on Saturday.

Typhoon Nesat made landfall on Tuesday, killing at least 52 people. Another 30 people are still missing and a number of towns and villages are flooded.

Parts of the Pampanga and Bulacan provinces have been submerged since Friday.

Nalgae is now moving towards Vietnam. Meanwhile, another storm is forming off the east coast.
