Assange extradition appeal lost

8:15 am on 3 November 2011

London's High Court has turned down an appeal by WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange against his extradition to Sweden to face questioning over allegations of sexual assault.

Mr Assange, 40, denies the accusations made by two former female volunteers for his organisation and says they are politically motivated.

His lawyers say they will ask to take an appeal against the extradition order to the Supreme Court.

No charges have been laid.
