The lounge studio in Tooting gets a makeover. Freddy's is reworking "Five Day Night" by Tubbs. The recording booth is in a bedroom, mattress up against the window. The end of six weeks in London is a busy weekend: three shows in two days in the midst of a heatwave.

Playback: Going underground. Soundcheck and show at Cherry Jam, London. The day after, back in Tooting, Freddy's play musical chairs as the band decide to reset the lounge studio, stripping back and rearranging the space. Playback: DJ Fitchie visits Wimbledon with daughter Mia Faiumu. The original pressing of HOPE 10” lands in Tooting -- a special moment. Inside, a recording booth is set up in a bedroom for a Freddy's rework of "5 Day Night" by Tubbs, a little money-earner on the roady. Mia enjoys sightseeing in London.
Playback: Stripped-back ensemble jam in Low Life Club, London -- part of a series featuring Aotearoa musicians. Can’t get enough a good thing. Grounded reality, post-show travel on the underground back to Tooting. "5 Day Night" rework production continues. Suga 2 Tone to camera: after six weeks in Tooting, keen to go to Berlin & Vienna.
Playback: DJ Fitchie packing records ahead of a busy weekend. First up, Toast Life Festival -- an antipodean food and wine affair -- and then across town in a small van, heatwave frenzy, to Bridge & Tunnel, Shoreditch. Jetlag and Suga 2 Tone have a mellow jam before the band headlines a Sonar Kollektiv night -- the Berlin label who released Freddy's "Midnight Marauders" on 12”.
Playback: Freddy's headline a show at Cargo. Banksy murals on the shoreditch walls. Event has a Cuba St vibe, with friends DJ Recloose and VEE in the area. Promoter Charles Kirby-Welch interview.
