The Sleeping Beauty: Taking opera to schools

This year the New Zealand Opera project is taking Respighi’s creation The Sleeping Beauty out into the classroom, or at least to school halls, up and down the country.

Bryan Crump speaks with tenor Ridge Ponini and soprano Alexandra Francis about the 2023 season of Opera in Schools in Aotearoa New Zealand.  Listen in to find out why the performers have reversed the roles of the lead characters, and Ridge Ponini's ambitions for Cook Islands opera.
