Fiji says electoral reform is its priority and that given the country is not in crisis, the Forum has no legitimate authority to impose further sanctions.

In a statement to Radio Tarana, the interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama says that the forum shouldn't hold its breath waiting for instant action

"I've never come across a situation where a country gives an ultimatum to another country, unless of course it's a declaration of war. It is going to be a long wait, weve already done our explanation, so no, i don't think I need to explain anymore."
