A strong earthquake has been registered between Fiji and Tonga.
Initial reports say the quake measured 7.4 on the Richter scale, with its centre 612 kilometres deep.
There is no suggestion that it triggered a tsunami.
Officials in Fiji and Tonga say the quake was not felt.
