The Cook Islands confirmed their place at next year's Women's Rugby League World Cup without kicking a ball, after Fiji, Samoa and Tonga all withdrew from a Pacific qualifying tournament in Sydney at the weekend.

Cook Islands Rugby League President, Charles Carlson, told Vinnie Wylie that he heard rumours the other teams had pulled out but did not inform the players as he wanted to hear it from official sources.
