Gazelle MP-elect wants to focus on his people

The new MP-elect in Papua New Guinea's Gazelle Open electorate says he's wary of the mercenary edge to national politics and wants to focus on helping his constituents.

Jelta Wong, who is in the United Resources Party, has just ousted the former government minister Malakai Tabar in this East New Britain seat.

Mr Wong told Johnny Blades that despite the present heated political lobbying around formation of government, his single priority is to create opportunities for his constituents.
