Two new reports say labour mobility schemes in New Zealand and Australia have had an overall positive impact for Pacific nations.
It comes as countries raise concerns over losing skilled labour.
The studies, conducted by The World Bank and Australian National University interviewed more than 2000 workers from Kiribati, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
One of the authors Dung (Zung) Doan says the schemes have economic and social benefits.
She spoke to RNZ Pacific's Caleb Fotheringham.
