AT THE MOVIES #809                   PLAYING IT AGAIN

Simon Morris looks at three films that encourage a second viewing – a fiendishly complex sci-fi epic, and two smaller films that leave tantalizing holes in the narrative.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is the first major blockbuster in months – a time-travel puzzle starring John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman), Robert Pattinson (Twilight) and Elizabeth Debicki (The burnt orange heresy).

Two of Us (Deux) sees two ageing lesbians torn apart when one has a stroke.  Stars Barbara Sukowa (Hannah Arendt) and Martine Chevalier (Tell no one).

And the independent American film Never rarely sometimes always is the story of a young woman’s efforts to have her pregnancy terminated away from home.  Directed by Eliza Hittman (13 reasons why).
