For the love of wine, Sophie Parker-Thomson

A Marlborough wine maker is about to become one of only a few hundred Masters of Wine in the world, and one of a handful in New Zealand. Sophie Parker-Thomson, who co-owns Blank Canvas Wines with her husband Matt Thomson, has the finish line in sight on years of intensive study. The 31 year-old grew up among the grapevines of Gisborne and central Otago, became a lawyer, and then heeded her mother's advice to go back to her roots. And she hasn't looked back. Sophie spoke with our Nelson-Marlborough reporter Tracy Neal about what it takes to make it in the world of wine.
