The Minister for Veterans, Meka Whaitiri, is on her way to Turkey to attend the first public ANZAC ceremony on the Gallipoli Peninsula since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, today marked the start of the RSA's annual poppy appeal... and this year marks the 100th anniversary of the appeal.

Meka Whaitiri will be joined by Australian and New Zealand Defence Force personnel on the five day trip. Karyn caught up with her just before her trip.
