National Party unveils plans to keep Covid-19 out
The National Party wants a Border Protection Agency, Te Korowai Whakamaru, to oversee and manage Covid-19 and other public health threats at the border. It also wants compulsory contact tracing for those people who work around the border, or are involved in the testing or treating of Covid-19. Yesterday, the government bolstered Defence Force numbers at isolation and quarantine facilities. The party's Covid-19 Border Response spokesperson, Gerry Brownlee, speaks to Māni Dunlop.
