Midwives begin rolling strikes

Rolling strikes and marches by midwives are underway throughout Aotearoa. In the coming week, about 1500 hospital midwives will down tools for eight-hour strikes, which are the result of last week's failed negotiations over pay increases. Midwives say the current offer is worse than earlier offers the midwives rejected. District health boards are disappointed midwives are pushing ahead with the action.
