Rates rise wanted to pay for Bay of Plenty cyclone damage

News the rate rise in Edgecumbe is going to be even higher than first thought has come as a bitter pill to swallow for residents living among vacant flood damaged homes. Whakatane District Council has told locals it will need to hike next year's rise even higher to pay for the damage caused last month.
