Luxury travel for staff irks Auckland councillor

From Morning Report, 7:29 am on 22 November 2017

Fresh from controversy over high salaries for his colleagues, Auckland Council's chief executive Stephen Town has blocked councillors from voting to halt luxury travel for staff. A council report has found more than a million dollars was spent on international travel in the twenty months to August 2017. Just over half of that was spent on 62 business-class flights. Yesterday Mr Town rejected a motion from Councillors Efeso Collins and John Watson to debate the matter. Mr Collins joins us with his reaction.
