Will the Bathurst drought be broken on Sunday?

Greg Murphy hopes this is the weekend either Scott McLaughlin or Shane van Gisbergen finally join him as a Bathurst 1000 champion. Murphy is the last New Zealander to be the lead driver of a winning car at Mount Panorama, claiming the fourth of his titles in 2004. His fellow countrymen haven't been able to emulate him since, despite dominating the Supercars championship for the past four seasons. McLaughlin was a career-best third at Bathurst last year, while van Gisbergen's finished on the podium only once in 12 visits to the mountain. Greg Murphy told sports reporter Brenton Vannisselroy there's a good chance the drought will be broken on Sunday.
