Report looks into planting forests to make up for methane

From Morning Report, 6:46 am on 7 October 2022

A new report from the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment was released yesterday.

It found a 50 percent increase in forestry would be required by 2050 to achieve the temperature reduction cutting methane emissions by 10 percent would achieve.

The report's co-author, Professor David Frame, says a fixed area of planting could permanently offset the emissions of a herd.

He's also urging people to think again about how they measure and compare methane and CO2 emissions.

Professor Frame spoke to Corin Dann.
