Rape Crisis discusses new rape sentencing guidelines

The minimum jail term for New Zealand's worst rapists has just doubled from 8 to 16 years. The Court of Appeal raised the starting point for sentencing in such cases, saying in the worst cases beginning with eight years doesn't match the offender's culpability.
