A Ngati Whatua o Kaipara leader is challenging the Minister of Education to act after the closure of the last Maori classroom in its rohe; In a statement, the Minister of Education, Hekia Parata, says the ministry worked with the schools Principal and Board last year to explore the sustainability of the unit; An Otago University researcher has found that early Maori most likely suffered from gout, which shows the disease is genetic, not just caused by modern lifestyle; A new tourism venture in Auckland will bring Maori voyaging waka to the Waitemata Harbour.
