12:00  INTERVIEW: Che Fu on playing Navigator at Auckland Arts Festival 

Che Fu’s 2001 album Navigator mixed Polynesian sounds with hip-hop, soul and reggae to deliver tracks that became kiwi classics like ‘Misty Frequencies’ and ‘Fade Away’. 

To celebrate 20 years of the album, Che Fu and his band, The Kratez, are performing Navigator live as part of the Auckland Arts Festival. 

He opens up the Charlotte about life, and how it feels playing the album again after all this time.

2PM LIVE: Imugi 이무기

Auckland's sensational electronic-pop duo IMUGI perform live at RNZ studios. Imugi is made up of singer/songwriter Yery Cho and producer/beatmaker Carl Ruwhiu. Together they've created a unique sound that combines synth-pop, trip-hop, pop, electro bass and modern R&B.

3:00 INTRODUCING: Nicolas Franchise 

Nicholas Franchise describes their sound as “pop-raunch rock”. His debut album Setup was recorded in Dunedin and released in 2018 while Nicholas was deep in the Portland Oregon music scene. The album quickly found a following in the U.S which resulted in a tour of west-Coast USA. 

Since moving back to Wellington, Nicholas Franchise have been playing festivals and working on a new album, one influenced by The Strokes, Mac De Marco, and Tame Impala.

3:30 INTERVIEW: Meet Canadian band Kiwi JR

Canadian band Kiwi Jr have just released their second album ‘Cooler Returns’ on Sub Pop Records, getting acclaim for its mix of indie rock hooks and singer Jeremy Gaudet’s witty, inventive lyrics.

Tony Stamp talked to Kiwi Jr in Toronto – the whole band was there but Jeremy did most of the talking (guitarist Brian Murphy also makes an appearance).

Benee, aka Stella Bennet, is New Zealand's top pop-star. In 2020 her song 'Supalonely' amassed over 400 million streams, she won the prestiguous APRA Silver Scroll award and took home four awards at the Aotearoa Music Awards.

Charlotte sat down with Stella after the release of her EP 'Stella & Steve'. Benee shares the tracks the inspired her to make music, and opens up about parts of her life the public doesn't know about on this episode of The Mixtape.
