1.35 2023 Taite Prize winner Princess Chelsea 

The Taite Music Prize was awarded this week to Auckland musician and producer Princess Chelsea
She has been extensively touring Europe - and is currently on holiday in NYC so was not at Tuesday's ceremony to collect her award. So we'll speak to her from New York.

2.00 Te Kaahu winner of the Best Debut Taite Music prize 2023  

On tuesday night the Taite Music awards took place at Q theatre - celebrating the Taite Album of the year which - but other awards were handed out too - Te Kaahu O Rangi, won Best Independent Debut.

The album contains nine waiata sung in te reo Māori by Te Kaahu, with themes of of love, peace, healing, and hope, but also for her a tribute to tūpuna wāhine and her beloved home in the Waikato.

Charlotte Ryan speaks to Em Walker, aka Te Kaahu about the win..

4pm  The Mixtape - Princess Chelsea 

Our guest on the Mixtape picking her favourite songs is Winner of the Taite Music Prize - Princess Chelsea.
The talented musician and producer recorded this Mixtape with me last year ahead for the release of her award winning album.  
She was introducing her new release to us by playing music that inspired her to write Everything Is Going To Be Alright.
