Hailing from Leeds, The Kaiser Chiefs were one of the most promising British guitar bands of the mid-2000s. Their debut album, 2005's Employment, was full of great sing-a-long anthems like : I Predict A Riot, Oh My God and Everyday I Love You Less And Less.

Their follow-up, 2007's Yours Truly, Angry Mob featured the hit single Ruby, but later efforts failed to interest music buyers despite working with acclaimed producers such as Mark Ronson and Tony Visconti. The Kaisers will play their first NZ show, a sold-out affair at Auckland's Powerstation, this Thursday, in support of their latest release, the best-of compilation, Souvenir.
