In a major investigation by the Washington Post, the United State's post 9-11 intelligence system has been described as so large, unwieldy and secretive that it's effectiveness is impossible to determine. Ray McGovern, a former Army infantry/intelligence officer in the early Sixties and then a CIA analyst for the next 27 years; and author Tim Shorrock, who wrote the book "Spies for Hire: The Secret World of Intelligence Outsourcing."
