9:10 Tonga Eruption update with Susana Laiataua

Three people are confirmed dead after the explosive eruption of Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai, and the tsunami which followed. Recent surveillance images reveal catastrophic damage, with buildings in villages washed away or badly damaged, roofs covered with ash and trees uprooted. We're heading to our RNZ Pacific News Editor Susana Laiataua, with the last news from Tonga.

A University of Otago study that strapped cameras on school kids has calculated that they are being exposed to a brand every minute. Research co-lead Associate Professor Leah Watkins, from the Department of Marketing, joins Anna to discuss the study's findings.

Clive Goodger has been running a small gardening business in the northern Wellington suburbs for the past 4 years. But it's not your everyday gardening business - at least in terms of how he carts his lawnmower around. He rebranded this year to Wheelie Green Gardening because he's upgraded to an electric cargo bike with the help of Bicycle Junction.

It's been almost 50 years since the Equal Pay act of 1972, but we still have a long way to go before we reach equality. This March, Mind The Gap are launching a pay gap registry, where companies can publicly acknowledge the work they need to do. Wally Mitchell was one of those people! He is the St John Territory Manager for the Mid-North with more than 20 years experience as a paramedic. 10.40 Dunedin's Larnach Castle now a Rom Com Star

Romantic comedy fans in New Zealand will be hanging out for Thursday night, when a new film shot in the South Island debuts on Netflix. It's called The Royal Treatment, and stars former Disney channel star Laura Marano and Canadian-Egyptian actor Mena Massoud who featured in the live-action remake of Aladdin. But the production made use of local talent too, including our own Chelsie Preston Crayford and the beautiful setting of Dunedin's Larnach Castle. Joining Anna on the show today to chat about the production is Larnach Castle's Deborah Price.

Today's guest is Mayor Rachel Reese who was elected as Nelson's first woman mayor in 2013. Mayor Reese has served on Nelson City Council for five terms, previously as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor. 11.35 Best of 2021: Steven Van Zandt: Rock and Roll Consigliere

Steven Van Zandt is number one at being the number two guy. A guitarist for the E Street Band with Bruce Springsteen and the underboss Silvio Dante to crime boss Tony Soprano, his role adjacent to centre stage has allowed him to pursue other passions. He walked away from Springsteen just as the band was filling stadiums, but he found his calling as an activist, boycotting Sun City in South Africa and campaigning to free Nelson Mandela.
