Te Ture Whenua Maori (Succession, Dispute Resolution, and Related Matters) Amendment Bill will amend te Ture Whenua Act 1993 with the aim of simplifying the process of engaging with the Māori Land Court and the Act.

Minister for Māori Development Nanaia Mahuta is in charge of the bill and outlined its purpose at the first reading debate which can be read (along with the other MPs speeches) here.

After a first reading debate a bill is usually referred to a select committee which calls for the public to submit its view. Submissions can be made now to the Maori Affairs committee until the 26th November.
