TV advert complaint dismissed

The Advertising Standards Authority has dismissed a complaint against Telecom regarding an XT Mobile Network ad, featuring TV race car driver Richard Hammond and a Hollywood stuntwoman.

The complaint refers to the ad, "Test drive the XT network today", in which Hammond employs the services of stuntwoman Zoe Bell to test the XT network coverage.

The scene in question shows the stuntwoman standing on the back of a four wheel drive vehicle, talking on a cellphone while traveling through a tunnel in Wellington.

But the authority quashed the complaint because the text "Filmed under controlled conditions" appears during the duration of the scene.
