THL keen to take on Pacific Horizon customers

Tourism Holdings has approached the receivers of rival operator Pacific Horizon in a bid to snap up the troubled company's customers.

KordaMentha partners Brendon Gibson and Grant Graham have been named as the receivers.

Tourism Holdings says it is not interested in campervan rental firm Pacific Horizon's fleet and the company's chief executive Ian Lewington says it approached KordaMentha when it realised people may be stranded.

He says they were very receptive to that and saw that it wasn't good for the industry if people were left stranded and unable to continue their holidays.

Pacific Horizon was established in the 1980s by managing director John Liddell and has more than 400 motorhomes based in Auckland, Wellington, Picton and Christchurch.
