Skellerup's rise in first-half profit

Skellerup Holdings has reported a 14 percent rise in first half-net profit following a strong domestic market for its agricultural products and as it benefits from changes to its industrial businesses in the United States.

The specialist plastics and gumboot maker reported a net profit of $10.8 million for the six months to December, compared with $9.5 million in the same period last year.

Chief executive David Mair says both sides of the business experienced growth and the company is starting to see the benefit of focussing on the key market of the US.
