One of the three coaches no longer required by Canoe Racing New Zealand says he is mystified as to why they have been axed.
Sport and Recreation New Zealand's review of the sport has seen the departures of Ian Ferguson and fellow national coaches Paul MacDonald and Andras Szabo.
Ferguson, a four-time Olympic gold medallist, says he has been given no explanation for the decision.
